Several Abstracts

This one I did a while ago, and I never took a picture of it. I think it needs more work.
Biology inspired, I did this toward the end of last semester, and again, never took a picture of it. I'm really fond of this one, mostly because I tried some new techniques on it and they WORKED! Always a nice thing to have happen.
And this one is brand new, I just finished it last night. I took a calculus class over the summer, and ended up inspired to paint something...math related...oh, I feel so nerdy.
I love it, though; mixing gouache and watercolor is always my favorite combination. You get the soft edges of the watercolors, and then the gouache dries on top of it in all these veiny, fractal-like branching patches. The way that you see watercolor spreading across the paper and you think, "oh man, if only it would dry like that." Well, gouache does. Love.

Roaverkill

Based on real life(less).

Further decay

This one almost turned into a landscape...and a subconciously painted mitochondria, hahaha.

Whatever you see in it, it is.

More on the theory of decay

This is another watercolor, which I did at the artathon a few weeks ago.
Background carpet is not intended to be a part of the asthetics, nor is it included in the original concept of my creativity. It was just there.

Whale of a problem

Let it Decay

Watercolor! Not sure if it's done or not.

Thinking a lot about molds/fungi lately, so it's crawling into my art. There's abstract meaning behind it, but I don't quite feel like putting it into words right now. Later.

Four Corners

Just a bunch of random marks.

This is my favorite corner.

note: it's a lot darker/deeper in real life; there was a funny glare when I was taking the photos, so it looks kind of washed out. If I was more serious about this, or myself, or my art, or anything, I would take the time to take better photos.
